Skyesports Teams Up with Ampverse to Expand to Southeast Asia; Plans to Invest $1 Million in Prize Pools Next Year

Launching new tournament IP

Skyesports Southeast Asia expansion was announced in partnership with Ampverse.

An exciting announcement comes from leading Indian Esports organizer, Skyesports for all the fans, as the organization will be expanding to Southeast Asia in partnership with Ampverse, who is one of the leaders in the Esports and gaming space in the region leading to the execution and co-organization of brand-new IPs.

That’s not all, through this partnership, Skyesports has decided to invest a sum of $1 million in prize pools over the course of next year. This large sum of money will be shared between online and LAN events that span 2022 and 2023. Skyesports will also gain access to Ampverse’s roster of content creators across Southeast Asia for marketing and promotions.

In order to better its hold over the region, the organization has made the executive decision to set up a new office in Bangkok, Thailand. This decision will make it easier to oversee all Southeast Asia operations.

Skyesports’ modus operandi is to host grassroots-level tournaments and create valuable IPs in India and South Asia. With the help of Ampverse’s knowledge and expertise in the Southeast Asian region, Skyesports will be following a similar strategy. Their main focus would be on original IPs that feature Esports titles that are popular in the region.

The first IP that will arise through this partnership is the Skyesports SEA Championship, powered by Ampverse. An official announcement for this IP should be arriving on their social media platforms soon.

According to the data shared by Niko Partners, “SEA has more than 270 million gamers which is expected to compound strongly at a rate of 8.6 percent until 2025. More than 60 percent of the region’s gamers are engaged in esports and 40 percent of the total gamers are female.”

Here’s what Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO of Skyesports has to say about the expansion and partnership with Ampverse:

“After touching millions of gamers across South Asia, it was high time for us to expand our horizons even further. We are entering the SEA market with a long-term commitment and our new office in Bangkok is indicative of that. I am thrilled to begin this journey with Ampverse, who are one of the leaders in the gaming and esports space in the region. Together, I am sure that we will be creating some of the most loved esports IPs in the region soon.”

Here’s what Ferdinand Gutierrez, CEO of Ampverse had to share about the partnership and expansion:

“We’re excited to be partnering with Skyesports to support their expansion into SEA while also co-developing new IP’s for the India market. This is a very complementary partnership so we look forward to building new products together to both excite and entertain gamers across the region.”

Here’s what Rajan Navani, Managing Director and Vice Chairman of JetSynthesys, parent company of Skyesports, had to say about their new move:

“Over the last few years, the esports industry has picked up quite the momentum in India. Our DOTA 2 team winning a bronze at the Commonwealth Esports Championship 2022 further strengthens the mainstream acceptance and popularity enjoyed by esports today. I am delighted with the impact Skyesports has continued to make in the Indian market, and it gives me great pleasure to now see it enjoying fandom in South East Asian countries. I believe this is a step in the right direction and wish the teams the best to make the most of this opportunity and further propel the growth of esports globally.”
